Alhamdulillah…Seni Qanasuri masuk magazine lagi…hehehheheh…kali nie featured di majalah Stailista keluaran October 2012…ada macam2…bunga telur, bunga tangan (HB), bunga corsage dan juga bunga hiasan dulang…seswai dengan tema Warna-Warni keluaran itu…berbagai2 warna hasil kerja Seni Qanasuri dapat anda lihat dari page 133 hingga 145…tak lupa terima kasih tak terhingga pada editor Stailista iaitu En Anwar Razali!! 😀

Ingin dimaklumkan yang sebahagian operasi Seni Qanasuri telah berpindah ke Brunei Darussalam mulai Julai 2012…maka tempahan untuk kesemua jenis bunga telur/bunga corsage/bunga tangan bunga tisu dan sebahagian bunga tisu akan beroperasi di Brunei…hanya tempahan bunga tangan dari Felt dan sebahagian bunga tisu sahaja akan beroperasi di Sg Buloh…harap maklum….

4 Januari lepas…dapat call dari Iylia yang berminat untuk cover aktiviti Seni Qanasuri untuk segmen Kerja@Rumah dalam rancangan Apa Kata Wanita musim baru 2012…maca tak percaya juga…setelah bincang ngan En Suami…kami telah bersetuju untuk jalankan shooting pada Isnin lepas…Alhamdulillah semua berjalan dengan lancar…walaupun tak dapat ditayangkan secara langsung pada Ahad 15 Januari…rancangan ini telah disiarkan di slot hari Jumaat pukul 1 petang di TV2…mesti ramai yg tak dpt nak ngk kan…so saya dapat la usahakan sedikit merakam mana yg mampu…so untuk sesiapa yg nak ngk…boleh ke link nie yer 😀

(1) It looks like the kind folks from the Pantone Color Institute are responsible for this one….Tangerine Tango & Pink. Pantone declares tangerine tango as a “bright and encouraging color” and as such, is a perfect combo for your spring or summer wedding. However, tangerine alone can certainly be a bit overwhelming used on its own, so it could use a little sumpin-sumpin’ to calm it down a little. Enter hot pink. Now I know you’re saying hot pink…how can that be calming? There’s something about pink that despite the shade adds a softness to whatever it touches. Can’t you just picture your bridesmaid’s bouquets in all roses of tangerine and pink with maybe a little yellow thrown in for fun?

Perhatian : Penyalahgunaan gambar dari blog Seni Qanasuri

Beberapa hari lepas saya terjumpa beberapa iklan di internet berkenaan dengan bunga telur tisu…secara jujurnya saya seronok lihat bunga tisu ini rupa nye mendapat sambutan yg baik dan hangat utk bakal2 pengantin dan juga pengusaha barang2 kraftangan pengantin…tak ketinggalan juga yg saya rasa memang menghasilkan bunga telur tisu sama sebijik mcm yg saya hasilkan (merujuk pada hasil bunga tangan saya dr awal tahun 2010)…tu tak kisah la…saya anggap itu sebagai panduan utk me-DIY bunga tisu nie 😀

Tapi yang membuatkan saya agak kurang senang…senang cerita agak bengang dan marah serta tak puas hati ialah…ada beberapa pihak yg telah menyalahgunakan gambar2 bunga telur dari blog saya untuk tujuan pengiklanan bagi bisnes sendiri…pada saya ini dinamakan MENCURI!! mencuri hasil kerja orang untuk ditayangkan pada yg lain dan mengaku itu seperti hak sendiri adalah tindakan yg amat tidak bertanggungjawab dan perbuatan yang sangat tidak sopan…saya dah email orang2 tersebut utk removekan gambar2 saya dari iklan mereka…tapi nampaknya tiada feedback dan iklan masih ada…so saya tulis di sini supaya tiada yg terpedaya dan tertipu dengan PENCURI2 dan PENIPU2 mcm nie…maaf kalau bahasa saya kasar…tapi ini sudah melampau pada saya…kalaumereka2 yang ini terasa malu…perlu malu ini dari awal…

Mereka2 ini bukan je iklankan di mudah.my…tapi juga di beberapa website pengiklanan lain…macam mana nak berkat cari rezeki kalau dari mula dah menggunakan cara yang salah…MENCURI…nak berbisnes biar dgn cara yg elok dari mula…apa sahaja yang ada dlm dunia internet nie memang boleh dilihat…diambil…dicopy-paste…untuk rujukan yer of course tak salah…tapi untuk kepentingan sendiri adalah tidak elok…harap2 tidak ada antara anda2 di luar sana yg terkena tipu dengan mereka2 ini…itu bukanlah hasil kerja mereka…bukan hak mereka untuk dipamerkan..

How to price your handmade :)

Nie note yg ditulis oleh salah seorang rakan crafter saya…

From my observation of Malaysian crafter selling their handmade items out there,  I see that sometimes some of them or maybe nearly all set their price way too low for handmade. Here, I would like to share some of my knowledge in how to price your handmade. I’m not a pro in the biz field but I read quite a lot from the net & biz books on pricing handmade/craft.

So here’s what I can summarize from the info that I know.

• The basic formula for pricing (for any biz out there) is: 

MATERIAL COST (including glue, label, packaging, electricity, water etc ) + LABOUR COST (time needed to complete) = BASE PRICE

Of course for biz, you won’t want to sell your item in base price / minimum price (mana nk dpt untung kan?)

• So for RETAIL PRICE (end price for customer) you should at least price it at x2 or x3 times of your BASE price.

• For WHOLESALE PRICE normally u’ll need a min order quantity & pricing should not be lower that half of the RETAIL PRICE (that’s the min ok guys!). Discount should be given around maybe 15-25% depending on the order size/quantity.

• But there is also some other stuff to consider, sometimes u need to check out the market price for your item & adjust the pricing appropriately.

• For certain type of craft such as crochet, knitting & jewellery making which need skill & more labour time, the price would be concentrating on the LABOUR COST more!

• For small biz like us crafter, especially CUSTOM MADE ORDER or MADE-TO ORDER items, it is advisable to get deposit or advance fees first at least 1/2 of the item(s) price.Maybe you should also consider the extra charges especially for CUSTOM MADE ORDER (example, when need  to create a new design according to customer demand etc)

Just my advise, after you figure out your pricing, stick with it. Don’t just simply lower your handmade price just because ppl bargain especially when it’s lower than your material cost! It will be only a big lost to u except you are just willingly give your labour cost for free to every customer you have.

Oh don’t be afraid to change the pricing if u need to do so. There will be always a fluctuation in pricing of materials you buy (eg. rise of fuel price cause yarn price to go up).

Please guys, try to set ur handmade price appropriately as u are the only one who know how difficult to make them. I always believe that the ppl who appreciated handmade (good quality & unique) are the ppl who willing to pay for the price of the handmade no matter how expensive it is. Hope that these info will help you all in your craft biz!
